Study of the Thermal Radiation Hazard from a Combustible Gas Fireball Resulting from a High-Pressure Gas Pipeline Accident

With the rapid development of high-pressure combustible gas pipelines, it brings convenience and also buries potential safety hazards. This paper presents an in-depth exploration thermal radiation hazards fireball accidents caused by leakage provides a reference for prevention control this type accident on-site rescue. Based on basic principle fluid mechanics calculation model rate, three-dimensional pipeline was constructed FDS software to simulate fireballs with different positions low, middle high. The simulation shows that ground temperature field low is quite from high fireball, level is: position > position. On basis, observation elevation angle introduced improve classical formula, value compared numerical optimal threshold determined combining flux criterion. results show basically consistent improved model. smaller angle, closer target receives calculated hazard range more reliable.
